In a shocking blockbuster revelation, SCEA European big guy David Reeves has conceded to gamesindustry.biz that Sony is aware that the PSP needs a bigger game library. Oh David…I never thought I’d see you small and vulnerable like this . Don’t worry, Destructoid will protect your innermost secret by informing the rest of the world on this website. I care about you, I swear.

Wait — apparently David didn’t want us to keep it on the down low, as he told the same story recently at the Playstation gamers day in London. However, he also offered a snippet of good news, which we will share with you here:

“We’ve seen in the last six months that because of the success of the PSP in Japan many Japanese developers have got some absolutely phenomenal games. They’re not Monster Hunter 2G or things like that, but they are in development and we’ll see them over here.”

At least…I think that’s good news. Does he mean the Monster Hunter series is the pinnacle of how good PSP games can get? (If so, I would be disappointed, as I was underwhelmed with Monster Hunter, but that’s just me.) While the PSP has done well in Japan, we aren’t seeing a lot of new titles for it from publishers (but plenty of new for the 8 year old Playstation 2.) I love my PSP, but I have to admit I want more games to play on it. I hope this trend changes for Sony, as it really is a great little handheld that just needs a little bit more to make it perform to its potential.
