Captain Obvious: Nintendo doesn’t like porn on their Balance Board covers

Recommended Videos

It seems as though Nintendo isn’t exactly appreciative to the more “artistic” Balance Board covers that have sprung up since the peripheral’s debut. The offensive covers by AMR Racing depicting rebel flags, cannabis, and chicks’ butts have given reason for Nintendo to back away from 3rd party products. In a no-response type response to gamesindustry.biz’s inquiry as to the nature of the covers, Nintendo had this to say:

These are not officially licensed products, we always recommend the use of official first or third party Nintendo products to ensure 100 per cent compatibility and reliability with our hardware. We always closely monitor new products entering the market to ensure that they do not infringe on any of our IP.

I would have loved to see a spectacularly candid reaction to the products, but it looks as though Nintendo will just have to keep monitoring the butts on the covers in case someone messes up and cements Peach onto one. Balance Board stuff is all fine and good, but I wonder what Nintendo has to say about Wii remote vibrators or even sex games that utilize the Wii remote? I think that may be slightly more racy than playing WiiFit on a marijuana leaf Balance Board.
