Mass Effect 3 is a thing that is planned to happen. And it appears Bioware is excited to do it. At a recent press event, ME2 project director Casey Hudson said as much, adding that the sequel-sequel should be a bit more fun.
And why? Because ME3 is the end of the trilogy — Bioware won’t have to toss in hooks for player saves and address what players do in another game. Go figure.
“Mass Effect 3 will be easier because we don’t have to worry about the continuity into the next one,” Hudson told Shacknews.
It’s odd to talk about the end of the series before the second iteration is even in our hands. It’s even odder when you consider how much the ME universe is worth to both Bioware and its publisher partner, EA. We’re guessing we’ll see more of ME post-ME3. Unless, of course, Bioware blows up the galaxy or something.
