Capcom’s PS4 exclusive Deep Down casual mode & more

At Sony’s Tokyo Game Show press conference, Capcom’s Yoshinori Ono was on hand to show off more of Capcom’s PS4 exclusive Deep Down, which is looking more and more like Dark Souls (or perhaps Dark Souls 2). Though, counter to that claim, there was a “Casual Mode” option screen spotted after an armor selection.

We caught the first glimpse of Deep Down‘s present — 2094 in New York City — and a lot more creepy, vague voice acting. Like last time, there were various languages (I counted four) and accents represented. I’m sure this all has to do with Deep Down‘s yet to be explained premise of digging into the past, seemingly Assassin’s Creed style.

There was also a lot of poking with spears, including some spear poking of incoming fiery projectiles to block them. Everything culminated in a four player bout against the giant dragon shown in Deep Down‘s initial announcement teaser. One cool thing was that enemies seemed to respond at where you stuck them with your jabby weapon, being brought to a knee when wounded in the legs and then losing big chunks of health when getting stuck in the face.

You can also watch the game being played here if you want to check it out for yourself.
