Capcom’s Countdown should be bigger than Sony’s Big Bang, but what is it?

Our imaginations have just calmed down from the rumored Sony Big Bang, but that turned out to be a just a really mean prank. Now we’re only about two days away from finding out what the hell Capcom’s countdown timer has been holding from us, and as we draw closer, imaginations run wild again.

We’ve been chanting “Okami for Wii!” for a long time, and I think they’ve heard us. There has been enough rumor support (and subsequent denials) to make me think that it’s still coming soon. I don’t think Okami Wii is the secret.

The kids at CVG are throwing out their guess: some sort of Lost Planet sequel or spin-off. I like the idea of a follow-up to last year’s hit, this time bringing more online action and multiplatform versions to the table. Lost Planet 2 sounds like a pretty smart guess, and it fits with the recent buzz and earlier rumors.

After all of that, I have to stick to my guns. It may be more of a wishful thinking thing, but I still want Dead Rising 2. I have no solid evidence to support this guess, but hopefully my power of want will make it so. While in Tokyo last month, I saw Keiji Inafune and yelled “Make Dead Rising 2!” He may or may not have heard me, and I know that a one month development period is impossible, but I’m sticking to my guns. Please be Dead Rising 2!
