Capcom signs development deal with UK-based Monumental Games

Between first confirming and then sort of denying 16 player multiplayer for Resident Evil 5, Capcom has announced that it’s signed a development deal with UK-based developer Monumental Games.

Under the deal Monumental will be working on an yet-unannounced multi-platform title that will be published by Capcom later this year. Monumental’s “Monumental Technology Suite” is an MMO and virtual world technology that the developer claims is the “most powerful” tech of its kind in the world. It powers Monumental’s PC MMO Football Superstar (pictured above), and its upcoming PC MMO Hunter’s World

Monumental’s Web site makes mention of work on its first console project, saying they “can’t reveal the franchise as yet,” and that it could contain a “substantial online element” with a focus on “pure adrenalin.” The developer is also currently seeking “experienced” PlayStation 3 and Wii programmers.

One of the most boring press releases ever can be found after the jump.
