Capcom looking into Breath of Fire III for North America

Calls it ‘a long shot’

Never give up hope! Pixelitis spotted a ray of hope on the Capcom-Unity forums for a domestic release of the PSP port of RPG Breath of Fire III, which was released in Japan in 2005, and later in Europe. Never here, though. Capcom executive Christian Svensson recently dropped this nugget on the release:

I’ll never say never, and I am looking into one way to put it back into North American circulation, but it’s a long shot. When and if I get news, I’ll let you know.

We’ll take a long shot! It seems that content regulations and IP clearances have held the title out of our grasp. It sounds like Capcom is looking into a digital release of the PSP title. It might be a bit of a wait before we hear something, though. Svensson said in another forum post on the matter:

We are having conversations with SCEA about this possibility however please be aware that if it were to happen, it wouldn’t be for several months. Unfortunately that’s how long these things take. :/
