Capcom has warned that the physical release of its upcoming remake Resident Evil 3 might see delays in European markets, due to the lockdown legislation put in place while the COVID-19/coronavirus pandemic continues to affect lives and businesses worldwide.

A new statement posted on Capcom’s official Twitter notes that while the survival horror remake is still set for release on April 3, it is possible that the game will only be purchasable digitally in Europe, with the delivery of physical orders potentially delayed. As many high street retailers have also closed their doors for the foreseeable future, in-store purchases in some countries are equally unlikely.

“We are closely following official regulations to ensure we are prioritising the safety of our fans, employees and partners,” said Capcom in the statement. “As such we are in frequent communication with our local distribution and retail partners in each market to make copies available once local import conditions allow. Please check with your local retailer for further updates regarding individual orders and availability of Resident Evil 3 physical copies and collector’s editions.”

In related news, the publisher released a new trailer for the adventure, focusing on its lead hero and one of gaming’s most notable protagonists, the incomparable Jill Valentine. You can check out the preview below. Resident Evil 3 launches on PS4, PC and Xbox One April 3.
