Capcom has told their investors that mergers and acquisitions in the West are a top priority. A note sent to investors stresses the need to do more business outside of Japan for growth in the future.
“Acquisitions and partnerships are one of the important strategies for increasing our market share overseas. We aggressively seek the opportunities of acquisitions and partnerships for the purposes of creating game content with universal market appeal and acquiring technologies and know-how required for our ‘Single Content Multiple Usage’ strategy.”
This note was also clear on what kind of partnerships they did not want, says Gamesindustry. They want to avoid anything that leads to employee departures, and they want no business with other Japanese companies.
