The top paid iPhone and iPad app this year was…
Minecraft – Pocket Edition. Of course it was. As for the top free app of 2013, you can almost certainly call that too — it was Candy Crush Saga, which also topped both the iPhone and iPad charts. The full list, viewable below, isn’t surprising so much as it is humorous.
Apple has also named its App Store game of the year, and I’m all for its picks. BADLAND was the iPad game of the year, while Ridiculous Fishing took the top honors for iPhone. The runners-up were XCOM: Enemy Unknown and DEVICE 6, respectively.
