James Cameron, director, visionary and broodmother of James Cameron Presents James Cameron’s Avatar Made By James Cameron, believes that videogame nerds, especially Halo fans, need to shut their holes about his latest epic movie.
“The funniest thing is when some of the so-called fanboys get up trashing Avatar for looking too much like Halo,” chuckles Cameron, possibly while tossing a bone to one of his grateful manservants. “It’s like … pay attention. If I’m referencing anything, I’m referencing the source work for Halo, which is my own stuff. So I get to do that. Nobody else gets to do that, but I get to do that. My rule, anyway.”
If you criticize Avatar, you are clearly some sort of idiot who can’t appreciate the film’s incredibly subtle and relevant messages about how white Americans are sexually gratified by the idea of murdering trees and love to spunk in the eyes of baby squirrels. If you disagree with Cameron, you’re a f*cking dick. Simple as that.
