Calling all Metroidvania fans: Check out Valdis Story

Latest update adds A.I. teammates

It’s hard to keep track of all the Kickstarters out there, but I regret not reporting on Valdis Story: Abyssal City because it’s shaping up nicely. A year after Kickstarter funding ended, we now have more footage of the Metroidvania action-RPG. This latest clip shows off the A.I. partners co-designed by backers.

Valdis Story: Abyssal City is an expansion of a 2007 game by prolific doujin developer Endless Fluff, which most recently released 2011’s Legend of Fae.

The above footage is pretty choppy but the developer says it’s due to a faulty recording setup. I can sympathize as I’m currently capturing footage for Destructoid, but yeah, they should probably get on that.
