Although Modern Warfare 3 turned perks into the equipment you wear, they still act exactly the same as before. Choosing the best gloves, vest, boots, and gear is essential to ranking up and winning. Many perks are banned in ranked play, so you’ll have to steer clear of some of the more overpowered options. The following perks are banned in ranked play:

Boots

  • Tactical pads

Vests

  • Engineer
  • Demolition
  • CCT Comms
  • Overkill
  • Gunner
  • Ninja

Gloves

  • Scavenger

Gear

  • Control Comlink
  • Bone Conduction
  • Blacklight Flashlight
  • L/R Detector
  • Threat Identification
  • Data Jacker
  • Signal Jammer
  • Hijacked IFF Strobe
  • Ghost T/V Camo

That leaves you with only a few options per piece of gear. Here are the perks most commonly used by professional Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 players in the Call of Duty League (CDL).

Boots

  • Lightweight
    • Enhances movement and swim speed, and minimizes noise while swimming.
  • Covert Sneakers
    • Silences footstep sounds entirely.

Vest

  • Infantry
    • Extends tactical sprint duration and reduces its refresh time.

Gloves

  • Quick Grip
    • Boosts weapon swap speed

Gear

  • EOD Padding
    • Decreases damage from non-killstreak explosives and fire.

With so few options to choose from after bans in ranked multiplayer, it’s easy to see which perks are the best. The only real variance from pro players are the Covert Sneakers or Lightweight Boots. Though it’s difficult to argue against having completely silent footsteps, moving more quickly is probably better for objective-based game modes like Control and Hardpoint. Moving in silence is perfect for Search and Destroy.

Best perks for ranked Call of Duty Warzone

Like multiplayer, Warzone features a lot of different weapons, attachments, equipment, and perks that aren’t allowed in ranked. Though unlike regular MW3 multiplayer, Warzone has a long list of available perks, even with bans applied. The following perks are banned in the only available ranked Warzone playlist for season two, Resurgence on Fortune’s Keep.

  • Birdseye
  • Plate Carrier
  • Comms Vest

There are still plenty of perks to choose from when creating the perfect Warzone perk package. Obviously, the ideal set of perks may be different based on your style of play. More aggressive players may want different abilities than players who like to camp in corners. Currently, the Resurgence playlist is the only available ranked Warzone game mode. Furthermore, your perk packages will likely need to change in the future for ranked Battle Royale on larger maps.

  • Resupply
    • Recharge equipment (grenades, throwing knives, etc.) over 50 seconds.
  • Cold-Blooded
    • Undetectable by thermal optics, tactical cameras, and recon drones. Hides you from High Alert and Combat Scout perks affects.
  • Stalker

  • Primed
    • Accuracy and aim down sight time is improved while jumping.

Best Warzone perks for slot 4

  • Ghost
    • Blocks enemy UAVs, portable radars, and heartbeat sensors while moving, making you undetectable.
  • Combat Scout
    • Bullets you fire briefly mark an enemy for you and your squad. Longer distance increases the mark time.
  • High Alert
    • Your vision pulses when an enemy looks at you from outside of your view, also displays the direction the person is looking at you from.
  • Resolute
    • When taking damage from gunfire, grants a short increase to movement speed.

Most Warzone players have their own specific perks they like to use in different situations. Of course, it’ll be different based on if you’re using close quarters weapons like shotguns and SMGs, sniper rifles, or another class of weapons.

Additionally, quicker movement speed and recovering health is essential in ranked Resurgence. So many players are close together and fighting at a fast pace, so moving away from fire and getting your kills quickly is important. Perks like High Alert can be the difference between you surviving until your teammates respawn, or dying to another player hiding in a corner.
