Publishers like to make money. Developers like to make games that make money. The union between publisher and developer can be a harmonious one when consumers are falling over themselves to buy a game. Good response (money) usually results in sequels, spin-offs or complete rip-offs of the title.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is one of those games that people can’t get enough of, so it wasn’t a surprise to hear that Infinity Ward was gearing up for a sequel. But if further proof was even needed, then it has just been delivered: Voice actor Ken Lally (Wesker in RE: 5 and Greg in General Hospital) told Coin-Op TV that he has finished work with Call of Duty 6, which is really Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
Just to make sure this all isn’t too good to be true, I placed 42 calls to Kiefer Sutherland. His connection to Activision with World at War makes him a prime candidate to ask. He hasn’t returned any of my voicemails yet, but in my dreams we’re best friends so he’ll give me a ring eventually.
