Higher versions than on next-gen consoles, ‘in many cases’
PC gamers have come to expect a little something extra — a lot extra, in some cases — from multiplatform games. With Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty titles, however, you’re setting yourself up for disappoint with that kind of mindset. Prior PC versions haven’t been anything to write home about but, according to executive producer Mark Rubin, that changes with Call of Duty: Ghosts. “Now, PC has its own set of assets,” he told Kotaku.
“It’s going to look better than any Call of Duty we’ve ever made on PC,” he continued. We’d certainly hope so! Rubin elaborated about the assets, saying: “They’re actually using an even higher version in many cases than the next-gen consoles, from a texture standpoint.”
After missing the last few releases, I think I might give Ghosts a chance if for no other reason than building out a squad and competing against others’ sounds like a nice break from the incessant frustration that would await me in matches against real players. PC version it is.
