Call of Duty fans may already be getting excited about the plethora of news and reveals pertaining to this year’s new release, Modern Warfare, but that doesn’t mean that Activision’s current entry in the military shooter franchise isn’t still offering plenty of bang for your buck.

Now live on PS4 (with other platforms to follow soon), Black Ops 4 has begun its “Days of Summer” event, bringing a ton of content including maps, vehicles, weapons, skins, and more to the game’s multiplayer, Zombies, and Blackout battle royale modes.

First up is the return of Grind, a popular skatepark-based map that will be added to the standard multiplayer mode. Players will be able to duck in and out of the half-pipes as they lay waste to the opposition with weapons such as the Peacekeeper, Locus, S6 Stingray, and the ever-faithful Ballistic Knife. Also arriving is that mainstay of multiplayer shooter modes: Capture The Flag.

Zombies fans are getting a brand new gauntlet, “Labours of Hercules,” complete with 30 new challenges to surmount. New Mastercrafts and attachments are also being made available, along with a slew of new Elixirs including Perkaholic, Near Death Experience, Reign Drops, and Shopping Free, all of which will help you on you monster-mashing adventures.

Blackout’s battle royale will get a new limited-time mode, Ground War, which will see an almighty battle between two teams of up to 50 players. Also keep your eyes peeled for a mighty new attack helicopter, ready to unleash the hot steel rain on opposing forces. In keeping with the spirit of the season, a variety of environmental features and colourful summer clothing is being added to the game, alongside water balloons and BBQ pits.

Arriving with all of the above is the usual run of balance tweaks and bug fixes. Days of Summer is a huge event, featuring so much more than can be listed here. Check out the official Black Ops 4 blog for full details, and remember to apply plenty of sunblock.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is available now on PS4, PC, and Xbox One.
