Call of Duty will not be coming to Wii U this year, Sledgehammer Games co-founder Michael Condrey revealed today via Twitter.

The decision was Activision’s, according to Condrey, leaving Sledgehammer to focus its attention on the crafting the first-person shooter for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Advanced Warfare is also in development for PS3 and Xbox 360, of course. Speaking with Game Informer, Condrey and his partner Glen Schofield confirmed the last-gen versions are being handled by Transformers and Deadpool developer High Moon Studios.

Earlier this week, Ubisoft boss Yves Guillemot cited poor sales on Nintendo platforms as the reason why Watch Dogs will likely be the last “mature” title the publisher brings to Wii U.
