Butts. Booties. Cheeks. Letters to Arralla has dumptrucks aplenty in its Steam Next Fest demo, available now, and it kind of must be played to be believed.
In Letters to Arralla, you play as a turnip mailperson, delivering the mail to the residents of the island of Arralla. But you don’t stand out in any way as a cheeked-up vegetable. No, no, all of Arralla’s inhabitants are veggies or fruits with their asses hanging out.
And in case you think I’m being dramatic about some pixelated booty cheeks, I’m not. This appears to be a selling point, or at least a big talking point, for the game from the developer itself.
“Play as a turnip with a big juicy bum delivering mail to a cast of colorful characters on an Australian island,” the game’s Steam description reads. “Get the mail where it needs to go by solving puzzles, helping the residents, and exploring the island’s sun-soaked beaches.”
So, I guess it’s kind of like Animal Crossing meets Paperboy meets Fantasy Life meets the grocery store’s produce aisle. It’s a unique title to be sure, especially considering that, not only are you able to open people’s mail and read it, but you’re actively encouraged to do so. That’s illegal in the real world, but on Arralla, your dummy thicc turnip dreams are filled with federal crime.
Letters to Arralla wants you to “learn of the island residents’ interpersonal problems through reading their mail” as they will ask your help to resolve them in the tropical paradise where you can “meet big booty cutie fruits like grouchy glassblowers, silly scientists, and deliver seriously creepy letters to an ominous house on a hill.” Oh, the intrigue!
You can play the Letters to Arralla demo now during June 2025’s Steam Next Fest, lest you miss out on the chance to play as some plump produce.
