Buy Guitar Hero 5, get advanced copy of GH: Van Halen free

Recommended Videos

Activision really wants you to buy Guitar Hero 5, and it wants to give you Guitar Hero: Van Halen… for free. Before it’s even on store shelves.

The publisher has announced a ridiculous offer — buy specially-marked copies of Guitar Hero 5 in September, and it’ll send you an advanced copy of Guitar Hero: Van Halen. The catch here is that this is a mail-in offer, and you’ll have to wait up to six weeks to receive your copy of Guitar Hero: Van Halen. But considering that game isn’t set to hit shelves until December 22, you should quiet your whining.

There’s no doubt that this is a fantastic deal, but it does call into question the quality of Guitar Hero: Van Halen. Not only have Activision been quiet on the game for long after its official announcement prior to E3, but now they’re giving it away for free. This should be interesting.
