Bungie’s gonna work from home for a while

COVID-19 has everyone working remotely

Even though Destiny will continue to receive regular updates and upkeep, no one will be in Bungie’s offices in Bellevue, Washington — at least for a little while.

The entirety of Bungie is going to work from home for the foreseeable future because of the COVID-19 outbreak. Bungie says that it “rapidly built a remote work infrastructure,” and that there shouldn’t be a disruption to Destiny‘s current content roadmap. However, the developer does note that this “could affect our patching cadence in the short-term,” while also acknowledging that the studio will be transparent in communicating any sort of hiccups or delays.

Bungie is located in King County, Washington which is the densest population of active coronavirus cases in the United States. There are more than 50 confirmed cases which have led to 12 deaths; nearly all of the fatal instances were confined to a single nursing home in the city of Kirkland, which is a neighboring city of Bellevue.

For anyone who wants access to a wealth of data about COVID-19, John Hopkins University’s Center for Systems Science and Engineering put together this fantastic interactive map that tracks confirmed cases across the globe.
