Splatoon has had quite a few games released over the years, but this series has never seen a spinoff until now. Since all Splatoon games are made by Nintendo, it’s not too surprising that this one is a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive game.

In this game, you’ll take on the role of a mechanic sent off on an adventure to the Spirhalite Islands. You’re joined by the iconic Deep Cut trio from Splatoon 3, including Shiver, Frye, and Big Man, so there are some familiar faces to help you along your journey.

The trailer follows a helicopter with you and the Deep Cut trio flying toward the mysterious Spirhalite Islands. A strange glow appears in the sky, and chaos erupts, sending your helicopter swirling through the sky.

After this shot, we see several gameplay scenes showcased. There’s a large wooden raft, various shots of the character you play as, fishing, and of course, plenty of shooting. The trailer for Splatoon Raiders only takes up about 1:10 of the 5:30 trailer, and the rest of it is dedicated to a new free update for Splatoon 3 arriving on June 12.

The Splatoon 3 update highlighted in this trailer features a fresh collection of weapons, the Splatlands collection. There are 30 new weapon kits included in this collection. The Urchin Underpass stage from the original Splatoon is also returning in Splatoon 3.

No release date was shared for Splatoon Raiders, and no additional information has been revealed outside of this small glimpse into what the game will entail. Nintendo did confirm that more details will be shared in the future, so we’re sure to learn more about this upcoming release soon.

While you wait for Splatoon Raiders to arrive, there’s plenty to keep you busy on the Nintendo Switch 2, like unlocking mirror mode or rewinding time in Mario Kart World.
