Bomberman LIVE tournament headed our way for the new year

In the before time, the long-long ago, there existed an Xbox Live that did not have Halo 3 or Call of Duty 4 on it. Yes, I know I speak heresy but it is true, I remember it! You remember it to, if you cast your mind back to long suppressed ages. In this bleak and untamed prehistoric realm, we played other games online. Games like Bomberman LIVE. Remember that? Hudson remembers, and has announced a tournament for explosion fanatics everywhere (the ones who aren’t Bin Laden’s chums).

The “Bomberman LIVE New Year’s Bash Tournament & Sweepstakes” will be for US gamers (boo) who can compete for the grand prize of an almighty 100,000 Microsoft Points. Think of the amount of times you can download Space Giraffe with all that abstract moolah! One time. You can download it one time. Here’s how we throw down:

In the “Bomberman LIVE New Year’s Bash Tournament,” players will drop
bombs with reckless abandon.  They will attempt to get the most frags
on the “Weekly Ranked Friendly Fire Leaderboard” which records
performance in the new “Friendly Fire” game mode on any map.

The games shall begin at 5:00 a.m. PST on January 6, 2008 and end at 8:59 a.m. PST on
January 13, 2008. The one catch is that you need the Bomb Up Pack 3 add-on downloaded to your HD, but who cares? It’s a great little game, right? Hit the jump for the dirty press release.
