In a move that’s unlikely to surprise anyone, Codemasters have started the process of closing its Guildford Studio, creator of Bodycount. The UK developer wants to focus on its racing properties and is encouraging the 66 employees affected by the closure to apply for jobs at the Warwickshire HQ, creators of Grid, and the Birmingham studio, which is developing a new racing IP.
Jim certainly wasn’t very impressed with Bodycount, calling it uncreative and generic, it also failed to make a splash with consumers. Perhaps Black didn’t really need a spiritual successor.
