Bloodstained shows off a pair of new enemies

Plus a pleasant chat with composer Michiru Yamane

For this month’s backer update for Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, designer IGA spoke with composer Michiru Yamane, whose music you’ll know and surely dig from games like Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (yep, there it goes — it’s stuck in my head again aaaand now I’m looking up concert footage). As short as this back-and-forth is, it’s still a nice treat given the participants.

What’s more, the development team has shared two new enemies. First, there’s Aello, a harpy:

And next is Gieremund, “a fast-moving, beast-type demon that attacks on all fours.”

Sound familiar as an archetype? These accursed dog monsters have given me trouble for years! But, at least it’s not a Flea Man. Or a Medusa Head. I’m not sure which has landed more dumb hits on me.
