Majesco has announced today that it’s bringing BloodRayne back from the grave for a 2D side-scroller game this year.
Called BloodRayne: Betrayal, the title sees Rayne being recruited by the Brimstone Society. While not confirmed, co-op is being hinted at by Majesco — they say she’ll team up with a mystery partner to stop “an evil vampire massacre.” Typical.
Here’s the best part for fans of side-scrolling goodness: it’s being developed by WayForward Technologies. WarForward is basically the go-to studio if you want some slick-looking, solid side-scrolling action. See also: A Boy and His Blob and Batman: The Brave and the Bold on the Wii, along with the awesome DSiWare title, Shantae’s Risky Revenge.
It’ll be out for Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network later this year. The website is live, but it’s mostly just a big tease and some butt rock music to get your blood pumping.
