Unfortunately, if you haven’t gotten around to picking up Skyrim yet, you’re out of luck for this week’s topic. For all the rest of you though, as you might have noticed, people pretty much everywhere are talking about Skyrim. Even people I thought didn’t even play video games seem to have picked the game up, and it’s a hot topic of discussion at everyone’s workplace.
With the Radiant AI and huge amount of quests, almost everyone seems to have that one cool, unique story that’s only happened to them. I’ve heard stories of followers getting kidnapped as part of a quest, only for the player to go rescue them and find that they slaughtered all their kidnappers by themselves by summoning a pack of rabid wolves. Some people have had three dragons all end up fighting each other in a massive, epic battle.
This week, if you’ve been playing the game, I want you to blog your best Skyrim story that you think might be unique to your playthrough. It can cover pretty much anything, whether it be the results of a hilarious bug or glitch or something supremely awesome your character did, but I’m asking you to follow two rules. Please don’t spoil any major plot points, as many people either haven’t started the game or are just in the middle of exploring, and really try to pick a story you think other players won’t have experienced — just summarizing a quest you liked isn’t what I’m looking for.
If you want to participate, just write a C Blog, title it “Tales from Skyrim: [Your Blog’s Title]”, and select the Bloggers Wanted Essay Response tag. Throughout the week, keep an eye on the blogs and get some discussions going with your fellow Dtoiders, and make sure you look for promoted blogs from last week’s topic, Thanksgiving.
