Coming in…whenever

After a non-apology from the current Blizzard president, we’re right on to the games. The thing everyone wanted last year!

Diablo IV is a thing, and it’s been introduced by way of a chilling and stylish cinematic intro. This isn’t your grandma’s unicorn-colored Diablo III it seems, as the phrase uttered in the trailer “there is no light here” seemingly sums up the new direction. Luis Barriga, game director, says the fourth iteration is “going back to the series’ roots,” and will focus on darkness. The opening talk gives us a lot of Diablo II vibes, including “PVP zone” talk, and there is going to be a big focus on the first two games. The barbarian, druid, and sorceress are confirmed, and you can see them in the debut gameplay trailer below, which is a lot more than I thought we’d get.

The daughter of hatred “blessed mother” Lilith (daughter of Mephisto) is born in the new clip, and will seemingly be the big bad this time. That’s the creature from the leaks! It’ll come when it comes on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
