Blizzard has announced World of Warcraft Classic at BlizzCon 2017.

The release, which has been rumoured among WoW players for quite some time, will present the WoW universe as it first appeared upon its original release way back in 2004, without any of the various expansion areas, new classes, or UI tweaks that have slowly been added to the MMORPG over the following thirteen years.

While this is something fans have been asking for for some time, it obviously may spell trouble for any and all fan-run “classic” servers that are currently available.

World of Warcraft Classic is in development for PC.
