It seems we were overthinking our conspiracy theories when a faceless countdown showed up on a couple of official BioWare Web sites last week — no add-ons, no expansions, and certainly no talk of sequels. Instead, what emerged was this contest … thing called the BioWare Bazaar.

It’s a week-long series of auctions for a ridiculous amount of goodies like games, gear, and apparel, most of which is branded with BioWare properties. Instead of using real money for the auctions, you’re supposed to earn tokens by taking part in various challenges.

Challenges like, oh, answering questions on BioWare’s Twitter feed. The auctions don’t start until April 6, so there’s plenty of time to build up a massive token collection for the big week. As cool as some of the prizes are, it’s hard not to be a little underwhelmed. This is why countdowns are evil, folks.
