Trees, faces, and ‘dead things’

Before its teams head off for the holidays, BioWare has shared where it’s at with Dragon Age: Inquisition. Since the game’s last big push at PAX Prime, the studio has gotten to a point where the main storyline is playable from start to finish. For reference, the final game is scheduled for next fall on PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.

In addition to the screenshots below, BioWare posted some more behind-the-scenes pictures, a number of which are centered on environments. “It is very important to me that the game cover a large variety of locations,” said executive producer Mark Darrah. “Not only does it expand the possibilities of our storytelling, it also gives us an opportunity to show a lot of different things. In a game that places a lot of emphasis on discovery, this is very crucial.”

If there’s on thing I can say about Inquisition, it’s that BioWare is putting the Frostbite engine to good use. Coming off of Dragon Age II especially is quite the leap forward.
