As you may have heard by now, a couple of BioWare sites — Mass Effect 2 and Dragon Age: Origins, but not Star Wars: The Old Republic — now show a timer counting down to next Monday. Okay, so what’s this all about then? Honestly, your guess is as good as mine.
It’s likely going to be some sort of announcement for new downloadable content. I’ll go ahead and speculate that it’ll be related to Mass Effect 2, and the countdown is only on Dragon Age‘s site for promotional reasons. You can also see the countdown on the studio’s main site page, which is plastered with ME2.
Joseph brought up a good point too. Could we possibly see a full-blown expansion to Shepard’s story on par with Dragon Age: Origins — Awakening? I’d buy that for a dollar. Actually, I’d buy that for many dollars. Or maybe, just maybe, they’ll announce an entirely separate new game. Speculate away!
