Binding of Isaac: Rebirth’s cast gets fleshed out

Looking pretty fleshy there, Peep

The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth is one of my most anticipated games of 2013. The new sprite-based graphics and the promise of additional content is giving me the vapors. The original Isaac looks great too, but this new “16-bit” style makes the game feel new again, while simultaneously tricking my subconscious into the idea that Isaac has been around since the ’90s, and that I’m just discovering it now for the first time.

Isaac creator Edmund McMillen and Rebirth publisher Tyrone Rodriguez have been showing off updates of the new art on Twitter, so if you want to be kept up to date on the game’s progress, give ’em a follow. Tyrone is a bastard though. He’s quick to tease us with awesome stuff that will probably never make it to the final release, like a tearful Reggie Fils-Aime, in game art of Edmund and his wife Danielle, and even an Atari 2600 version of the Isaac

I would pay top dollar for all of those features. Quit playing games with my heart, Tyrone.
