Like Fallout‘s Wasteland, resources are limited and not everyone’s going to get the most sought-after of Fallout 4 memorabilia: a replica Pip-Boy. Yes, people quickly scooped up the limited number of Pip-Boy editions of Fallout 4, and Bethesda’s not making any more.

Pete Hines, Bethesda’s VP of marketing and PR confirmed as much on Twitter yesterday. Each retailer has been given their final allotment, but Bethesda is done manufacturing them. There will likely be some available at launch from stores that keep stock in reserve, but no additional units are on the way.

As we’ve learned with amiibo, manufacturing is a complicated process — you don’t just flip a switch and suddenly have more stock. Bethesda sounds like it’s forever washing its hands of the Pip-Boy situation. However, all hope isn’t lost for those who weren’t quick enough to pre-order; but, (again like amiibo) it’ll cost some significant extra dough on the second-hand market.
