Bethesda apologizes for messing up recent Fallout 76 event, adding ‘additional challenges’ in response

‘We can’t grant you replacement S.C.O.R.E. directly’

As soon as the last patch for Fallout 76 dropped, players knew there was something rotten in Denmark West Virginia.

People were finding out that the new S.C.O.R.E. system was a bit busted, among other issues and bugs. Bethesda is fixing it, but the end result might not satisfy people who pumped endless hours into the patch before finding out it was bugged.

After apologizing for the rollout, the development team states: “While we can’t grant you replacement S.C.O.R.E. directly, we are planning to add some additional challenges to help make up for S.C.O.R.E. that you may have missed out on.” They reiterate that they’ve added a total of nine dailies through July 20, and are “looking into additional challenges” for the future.

The studio also reminds us that the double S.C.O.R.E. event is slated for July 23 weekend. Bethesda has also announced a standard double XP weekend that kicks off today, and will run through 12PM ET on Monday, July 20. Oh, and you can buy ranks (with Atoms, the premium currency that can be purchased or earned in-game) as of now. That feature was supposed to be delayed, but Bethesda decided to push it out anyway.

It’s a trade-off. You can’t get those hours back you spent farming, but you can earn more XP now. I don’t blame you if you sit this out in frustration.
