Best skills to unlock in Dune Awakening

The GOAT skills

Dune Awakening has many different skills to unlock, and prioritizing the best will help you manage your resources and improve your character faster and better.

Before deep diving into the best skills, it’s important to understand they’re class-specific. When creating a new character, you get to pick your class, and there are no so-called best classes. Every class has its skill tree: you begin with one and then unlock more by leveling up.

Top skill choices in Dune Awakening

I have presented the skills and added their descriptions in a tabular format to make it easier for you to understand. You’ll need to use the skills within the specific class as outlined in the table. After picking the class you like, use the information in the following table to build your character up in Dune Awakening.

Shigawire ClawTrooperThe Trooper class is focused heavily on movement and combat. The Shigawire Claw skill makes it easy for you to climb taller surfaces like mountains, allowing you to bypass terrains that have vertical challenges. The skill might be extremely basic in nature, but it’s super easy to unlock. You can fully build out this specific branch first, as there are plenty of benefits in the late and endgame.
Bindu SprintBene GesseritThe Bindu Sprint allows you to sprint and reduce the time taken to travel between different distances. However, it consumes stamina, and by a lot, so don’t think of using it to escape the Sandworms.
Knee ChargeSwordmasterThe Knee Charge is a favorite choice of mine. It’s a mobility skill that allows you to cover distance, but it also deals damage. The potential damage is enough to take out unshielded enemies. While the cooldown is on the higher side, the mobility and damage make the skill worth the grind.
IgnoreBene GesseritUnless there’s a nerf, you can use Ignore to attack enemies without alerting them. The skill is so effective that I feel there will be a nerf in the future. It completely hides your presence from the enemies.
SentinelMentatIf you have gone with the Mentat class, it’s best to unlock Sentinel early. It passively boosts your damage, which scales up as you grow your characters. Mentat is useless against shielded enemies, but it’s still one of the best skills in the game.

So far, in my experience, skills aren’t a gamebreaker. You can still progress smoothly without going for the most meta choices for your class. However, opting for the more effective ones will hasten your in-game progression. If I had to recommend a path, begin with the Trooper class, as it’s easier to master (you can make a few mistakes but remain okay for the most part).
