Best Sir Chadwell build in Megabonk

One of the many Chads in Megabonk.

Sir Chadwell is a pain to build in Megabonk because his Corrupted Sword is arguably the worst weapon in the entire game. Playing with Chadwell in most of the early game revolves around finding any other weapons that aren’t plain garbage to start farming mobs for real and leveling up.

There’s a light at the end of the tunnel, though. If you give him Weapons and Tomes that thrive with Size and Projectile Count, even the Corrupted Sword won’t look that bad. Here’s the best build to run with Sir Chadwell.

Dexecutioner, Bananarang, and Flamewalker are the best Weapons to use with Sir Chadwell. All of them get better with Size and Projectile Count buffs from Tomes, Items, and Shrine upgrades, but deal more damage in a larger area than the Corrupted Sword. Bananarang, despite being a ranged projectile, is incredibly effective at dealing area damage and protecting Chadwell. Aura, Katana, and Aegis are other decent close-range Weapons for protection, while Hero Sword is worth picking if the other options are nowhere to be seen.

Chadwell’s low starting damage means you might have to pick a weapon as early as level one or two, and the ones offered might not be one of the choices I’ve listed. If that happens, check which of your options scale with Size and Projectile Count, and pick it.

Best Tomes, and items to use with Sir Chadwell

Size, Damage, XP, and Luck Tomes are Sir Chadwell’s best Tome picks. Size will increase the area of Corrupted Sword and other Weapons I’ve suggested, and the Damage Tome is a must for scaling in the mid to late game, though it can be replaced with Cooldown Tome for extra attack speed. XP and Luck Tomes are essentials for deep runs in Tiers 1 and 2, while Quantity and Bloody Tomes are good if you can’t find the other options.

It’s common to skip the Cursed Tome with Sir Chadwell because his leveling up already increases difficulty. That means the XP Tome becomes a two-in-one and plays the same role as the Cursed Tome, freeing that slot for something else.

Moldy Cheese, Backpack, Gym Sauce, and Turbo Socks are great low-rarity items that will fix Sir Chadwell’s low damage and movement speed in the early game. As you progress further, the usual overpowered and rare items like Ice Cube and Giant Forks are welcome additions.

Sir Chadwell may still be frustrating to play with. If that’s the case, try one of our other best Megabonk builds with a different character.
