SAND: Raiders of Sophie is finally live after a few hours of delay, and it’s wise to tweak the settings to your liking. Given that the game relies heavily on shooting enemies, you should prevent lag and stutters at all costs.
While I have encountered a bit of lag, making some changes resolved the problem.
Best SAND: Raiders of Sophie graphics settings
Before I dive deep into the settings, here’s my current setup.
- 32 GB of DDR4 RAM
- AMD Ryzen 7 5700X
- AMD Radeon RT 9060 XT 16 GB

My specifications comfortably meet the recommended requirements, but I still encountered lag. The following settings are more applicable to those closer to the minimum requirements.
- Display Mode: Fullscreen
- Resolution: Go with the native resolution of your monitor
- Field of View: 90
- V-Sync: Off (This is a competitive game, and it’s better for your system not to limit the frames being generated).
- Frame Rate: 90 FPS for high-end devices; 60 FPS for low-end.
- Limit FPS in Background: Off
- Limit FPS in Menu: Off
- Anti-Aliasing: Off
- Super Resolution: Turn this on and go for Performance if you’re encountering lag.
- Graphics Quality Preset: Custom
- Texture Resolution: Medium
- Geometry Quality: Medium
- Materials Quality: Low
- Terrain Tessellation: Off
- Shadow Quality: Low/Medium. Don’t go above Medium.
- Shadow Refresh Frequency: Low
- Contact Shadows: Low
- Sky Quality: Low
- Volumetric Fog: Low
- Screen Space Ambient Occlusion: Medium
- Screen Space Global Illumination: Low
- Post-Processing Quality: Medium
- Post-Processing Injection Point: Before Upscaler
- Motion Blur: Off
- Bloom: Off
- Film Grain: Off
- Chromatic Aberration: Off
- Vignette: On
- Color Filters: Depends on your preference
If you’re still getting lag, put the parameters in Medium to Low. If it’s smooth, tweak the parameters upwards. Ultimately, tweak and experiment until you’ve found the sweet spot.
