Best Protea Prime build in Warframe

Primed destruction.

Protea Prime should be a day-one cop for anyone who likes to watch their enemies burn. Her original counterpart is already incredibly strong. So, if you want the best Protea Prime build to conquer most of the content in Warframe, check what we have cooking.

Her build will consist of a mod setup, subsumable abilities that work well with this, and then Archon Shards to top off the build.

Best Protea Prime build in Warframe

The following mods will be needed for this build to reach its full potential.

Aura: Growing Power

Exilus: Primed Sure Footed, Power Drift, or Cunning Drift

Mods

  • Blind Rage
  • Primed Continuity
  • Archon Vitality
  • Stretch
  • Narrow Minded
  • Rolling Guard
  • Primed Flow
  • Overextended

Arcanes: Molt Augmented (Must) and Molt Efficiency or Arcane Energize

With this mod setup, excluding the Exilus slot, your ability stats should be the following :

  • Duration: 254%
  • Efficiency: 45%
  • Range: 169%
  • Strength: 139% (224% with conditionals)

The Strength stat might be low, but because Growing Power is activated by your weapons’ status effects constantly, that bumps it up to 164%. Then, with a maxed-out Molt Augmented, your Power Strength will then be at 224% after 250 kills.

Best subsume abilities for Protea Prime

If you want to get more out of this build, these are the best subsume abilities to put on Protea Prime:

For general damage buffs:

  • Nourish – Grendel (weapon buff)
  • Shooting Gallery – Mesa (gun buff)
  • Eclipse – Mirage (hold for weapon buff)
  • Roar – Rhino (weapon and ability buff)

The general damage buffs are good if you want to primarily use your weapons to deal damage in your missions. Rhino’s Roar is perhaps the best one on the list, but the others are just as strong in their own right, namely Grendel’s Nourish.

For utility:

  • Elemental Ward – Chroma
  • Ensnare – Khora
  • Larva – Nidus

Depending on your energy color, Chroma’s Elemental Ward works very well as a tool to help you survive or give you more utility for gunplay. Using the Toxin Ward is probably the best because of the holster and reload speed buffs.

As for Ensnare and Larva, these are good for grouping and incapacitating enemies in large groups to destroy them with a follow-up cast of Blaze Artillery. The combo will ramp up fast and will deal even more damage thanks to Archon Vitality’s secondary ability.

Which ability should be replaced?

The best ability to be replaced if you’re subsuming is Temporal Anchor. It has its uses of cheating death, but it’s too situational for it to be practical. Besides, with all the other abilities, she’ll be clearing rooms with ease (as long as there’s good energy upkeep).

Best Archon Shards for Protea Prime

To fully get the most out of Protea Prime, these are the best Archon Shards to apply to her. In no particular order, use the following:

  • Violet Archon Shard – Health pickups give +20% (+30%) Energy. Energy pickups give +20% (+30%) Health.
  • 4 Crimson Archon Shards – +Ability Strength or +Duration

The Archon Shard setup is quite simple and there is some room for player preference. Mostly with the Crimson Shards, you can choose to add more Ability Strength or Duration, which still benefit the build altogether.
