The best guns in Black Ops 7 – BO7 multiplayer meta weapons

Use these for some online dominance.

Another Call of Duty, another roster of guns to learn.

As is the case with every CoD game, Black Ops 7 has a dearth of new weapons to level up and choose from when it’s time to squad up with your homies and trounce unsuspecting players online. Or, if you’re like me, play solo and get absolutely choke-slammed by skill-based matchmaking and question every decision you’ve ever made.

Things will quickly change as Treyarch balances the game, but here are our picks for the best guns in BO7 so far in the first days and weeks after full launch.

Black Ops 7 meta guns

M8A1 (Marksman Rifle)

The M8 from Black Ops 2 is back. This time, it’s a marksman rifle and not an AR, but it’s just as powerful, if not even better. The M8A1 has one-burst kill potential at mid-range if you hit the enemy in the chest or above. It feels pretty gnarly, but it loses out to weapons with higher mobility when dealing with omnimovement.

Peacekeeper MK1 (Assault Rifle)

The Peacekeeper is another returning gun from BO2. The SMG/AR hybrid is a pure AR this time around, and it offers easily the best mobility and handling when it comes to ARs so far, meaning that it helps out a lot when running and gunning with BO7’s wall-jumping and omnimovement.

MXR-17 (Assault Rifle)

My favorite AR for long-range so far, the MXR-17 is reminiscent of the TAQ-56 from recent CoD games and Warzone. While it’s slow-firing compared to other guns, it’s powerful as hell and can hold its own at a distance. You will likely be out-maneuvered, but if you keep your distance or post up on a wall or head-glitch, you can deal some big damage.

Dravec 45 (SMG)

The Dravec 45 is the top pick for most submachine gun players so far, boasting the best mobility and firepower in class. With 36-round magazines by default, there’s more than enough bullets to take down anything that moves at close range, and it holds its own at mid-range, too.

VS Recon (Sniper Rifle)

This is the best of the two sniper rifles thus far, as bolt-action snipers tend to be in CoD. If you’re accurate, you could one-shot enemies in the chest or above at just about any range in the game.

Velox 5.7 (Pistol)

The best pistol I’ve found thus far is this burst pistol, which is reminiscent of the B23R from BO2. It can be auto-fired without having to tap the trigger, and it’s excellent to switch to and finish off enemies who are weaker at mid-range.
