Best Danjin Build in Wuthering Waves – Weapons, Echoes, and Team Compositions

It's time to hunt.

Danjin is both an excellent Havoc DPS and the perfect description of what high risk/high reward means in Wuthering Waves, as she will be constantly trading her own HP for damage.

As you can imagine, though, this means that awakening her full potential will demand both a complete mastery over the game’s combat and a fine-tuned build and team. To help you with the latter, here’s the best Danjin build in Wuthering Waves.

The Best Weapon for Danjin in Wuthering Waves

The best weapon for Danjin is the 5-star Emerald of Genesis. The weapon is my main pick given its Crit Rate substat and ability to buff her ATK by 12% after she performs two Resonance Skills. Although the buff only lasts 10 seconds, Danjin’s ability to spam Crimson Fragment will allow you to keep it up almost indefinitely.

Best 4-star Variants

Among the 4-stars, the Battle Pass-exclusive Lumingloss is my main pick. Even if lacking the CRIT Rate substat found in our top pick, the 4-star will offer a massive amount of ATK. When using it, Danjin will also be able to buff her Basic and Heavy ATK DMG by 20% after performing her Skill.

Using Sword#18 can also work given its high base ATK and substat. Once equipped, the weapon will allow her to heal 5% of her health by performing Heavy Attacks while below 40% HP (8-second cooldown). When below the HP threshold, you will also gain an 18% Heavy Attack DMG boost. To recap, here are the best weapons for Danjin, paired with a great 3-star pick.

Weapon Name Reason Why
Emerald of Genesis (Top Pick)Game-changing Crit Rate value and a good attack boost.
LuminglossHigh ATK increase and a great Basic/Heavy DMG boost.
Sword#18High ATK value and the ability to both buff Heavy DMG and occasionally heal.
Guardian Sword (Best 3-star)Good Resonance Skill DMG boost.

Best Sonata and Echoes for Danjin

The best Sonata for Danjin is a 5-piece Sun-sinking Eclipse. The set is my main and only pick for her given its 10% Havoc DMG increase and ability to offer an extra 7.5% for each Basic or Heavy Attack performed. The latter maxes out at 4 stacks for a 30% increase in Havoc DMG. Each stack lasts for 15 seconds.

For her Echoes, I recommend going with Crownless as your main in a formation featuring one Overlord, two Elites, and two Common picks. Crownless is a must for Danjin, as the Echo will offer a 12% boost in Havoc and Resonance Skill DMG. The effect will take place after you activate the Echo and will last for 14 seconds. For the other spots, go with any Echo you like for as long as they meet the class criteria.

Best Stats and Substats

For the main stats, I recommend that you go with Crit Rate for Crownless and with two Havoc DMG, and two ATK% for the others. Going with triple ATK plus Crit Rate and Havoc DMG can also work. Substat-wise, prioritize Crit Rate, Crit DMG, ATK, Heavy Attack DMG Bonus, and Basic Attack DMG Bonus. Like with all DPSs, Danjin needs at least 50 to 60% Crit Rate to perform at her best.

Best Teams for Danjin in Wuthering Waves

The best Danjin team in Wuthering Waves will have her as its main on-field DPS plus either Baizhi or Verina as its healers and DMG Deepen supports.

For the sub-DPS spot, I recommend using Mortefi for his ability to both deal off-the-field DMG and offer a 38% Heavy Attack DMG Deepen boost through his Outro Skill. The latter is huge, as it will massively increase the damage of Danjin’s Chaoscleave and Scatterbloom. Using Taoqi in the role can work just as well given her ability to provide a 38% boost in Resonance Skill DMG Deepen. She will also be able to shield the party, thus giving you a little room for error.

Danjin can also work extremely well in a two Havoc DPSs team, as her Outro Skill will allow her to offer a 23% increase in Havoc Damage Deepen. The effect will last 14 seconds or until the affected character leaves the field.
