You can get solid use out of most characters in Ultron’s Battle Matrix Protocol with the right modules, but some are far better than the rest right from the start and make crafting the best team comps much easier. Here are all of the best characters you can use in this event.

Namor

Namor is quite a nuisance for the enemy team if you know how to use him. Keep him in your backline with a few characters close by to protect him, and you’ll consistently have massive damage output from him thanks to his Monstro Spawns. To truly maximize his potential, you want Bruce Banner/Hulk on your team, too, so he can make use of the super deadly Gamma Monstro Spawn.

Bruce Banner/Hulk

Hulk is an absolute beast in this event. He’s got massive survivability and does a great job keeping the team safe while also taking out enemies. He’s certainly one of the best Vanguards you can have on your team, and he’s a super flexible pick who works well in any lineup. He’s especially great with Namor.

Loki

The god of mischief simply refuses to die in this gameplay mode, making him a superb ally for your team. His healing domains cover a lot of your team’s side, which means he’s really good at healing everyone at once. He also has solid damage output and a nice ultimate move.

Peni Parker

Peni Parker’s webs and nests excel in the small confines of the event battlefield. She’s especially potent if you pair her with Rocket Raccoon since you can essentially cover your entire half of the playing field with deadly traps. I recommend placing her behind your Strategists so she can web the area around them for protection.

Groot

Groot is a bit of a tricky character as he’s sometimes phenomenal and other times seems to be throwing. Generally, though, I think he’s one of the best Vanguards you can use. He’s been a pivotal player in all of my winning teams because his walls are extremely useful for boxing in enemies or blocking attacks.

Sometimes, his wall placement kind of sucks. But in the many matches I’ve played with him, I’ve only had him nearly make my team lose about once or twice. The vast majority of the time, he’s a strong tank who excels at protecting the team and taking out enemies.

Jeff the Land Shark

Although his main abilities are just okay in this event, Jeff the Land Shark can unlock a special module that makes him a superb ally to have. The module is called Looting Leviathan, and it essentially helps you acquire additional modules. This is a huge advantage to have at your disposal.

You can make Jeff the Land Shark a better teammate by using Venom and/or Storm alongside him. He has a Team-Up with both characters, and the more skills you have at your disposal, the better your odds of success.

Venom

Venom is another tough Vanguard who excels in this mode. He’s especially great if you manage to secure the King in Black module, which allows him to grow in size and convert some damage dealt into bonus health. He can also easily reach fliers with this buff. Venom is also pretty great without it, as he has really impressive survivability and does a great job protecting the team.

Invisible Woman

Invisible Woman’s ultimate is one of the absolute best ones in the entire event. It does both massive healing and damage, which means she’s taking care of the team and fighting for them at the same time. It covers nearly the entire battlefield, too, so there’s no escaping it. She’s also super flexible and works well with any team you slot her into.

To make the most of these characters, be sure to grab the best Strengthen Modules to pair with them. These powerful abilities make the best of the best even more formidable on the battlefield.
