The Blackarrow is the default archer class in Mistfall Hunter, and it can be an excellent option if you enjoy playing from range. Like any other class, the Blackarrow has its specific set of pros and cons.

You can deal a lot of damage from range without getting close to your enemies, but melee-focused classes and bosses can be trouble if you are not using the correct build.

Mistfall Hunter Blackarrow class overview

I really like the Blackarrow class, despite its apparent weaknesses. Is it an S-tier class? Probably not. However, you can find the game extremely enjoyable when playing as an archer. I recommend this class for Trios because you will need other players to cover your weaknesses.

Before I dig into the build, let’s quickly check out the pros and cons that you can expect from this class.

Pros

  • Highest range among all characters
  • Closest class when it comes to using a build with a gun
  • Great for those who have good aim in FPS titles
  • Balanced skills that do well in both PvP and PvE
  • Works well with melee-focused classes like Mercenary and Withered Knight in Trios

Cons

  • Very low survivability
  • Hard class to use in Solos
  • Enemies in close range can be a big threat
  • A few missed shots can turn out to be dangerous

Let’s now check out my recommended build for this class. But first, we will go through all the skills (a.k.a. arrow types) available for this class.

All Blackarrow skills in Mistfall Hunter

The three tables below has a list of all the available skills for the Blackarrow class. For Blackarrow, skills are mostly in the form of Weapon Skills. The Weapon Skills branch into arrow types (two options) and Skills (seven options). It’s always important to know the options you have on your hands before zeroing down on a build.

Archer’s Arrows

NameHow it Works
Steel ArrowFine steel arrows deal Physical Damage on hit and can pierce one unit.
Concussive ArrowStorm-imbued rune arrowheads burst into air waves on impact, dealing Physical Damage to enemies within range and inflicting Stagger. When fired at full draw, the air wave also knocks back affected enemies.
Lightning ArrowArrows wrapped in lightning deal Physical Damage on hit and create a lightning chain that jumps between nearby enemies.

Each enemy can only be hit once by the chain, and each successive jump deals reduced damage. Hitting terrain near enemies can also create a weaker lightning chain.
Bloodfly ArrowArrowheads coated with mysterious corrupted blood attract blood flies. The arrow deals Physical Damage on hit, while the flies remain on the target and continuously deal Physical Damage, with a portion converted to True Damage.

If the arrow hits terrain near enemies, the flies seek the nearest target with a reduced Damage Multiplier.
Splatter ArrowThe arrow shaft is coated in blood that splatters on impact, dealing Physical Damage to nearby enemies.

Drawing the bow for longer increases the splatter area, although the splatter deals less damage than a direct hit.

Splatter Arrow has no cooldown, consumes no Energy, and can trigger all talent effects of a Normal Arrow.

Hunter’s Arrows

NameHow it Works
Soundwave ArrowSpecially structured arrows emit sound waves from the ring around the arrow shaft after impact. Enemies within the affected area become Exposed for a period of time.
Barbed ArrowBarbed metal arrows deal Physical Damage on hit. Enemy players who use Dodge shortly after being struck take additional Physical Damage.
The effect can trigger only a limited number of times.

In solo mode, it can trigger fewer times, but each activation deals more damage. Monsters struck by the arrow continuously take Physical Damage.

Hitting terrain creates a Barbed Trap that applies the same debuff to enemies who touch it.
Apprentice Plass, aware of his lack of talent as well as his master’s disapproval, began to tinker wi
Paralysis ArrowArrowheads covered with medicinal plants release a small cloud of medicinal mist after hitting terrain or a character. Enemies inside the mist become Exhausted for a period of time.

Each enemy can only be hit once by the chain, and each successive jump deals reduced damage. Hitting terrain near enemies can also create a weaker lightning chain.
Spore ArrowArrowheads coated with mushroom spores plant a mushroom after hitting terrain. After growing for a short time, the mushroom becomes a Construct trap.

When touched by an enemy or struck by an ally, the trap causes enemies within range to continuously take Physical Damage for a period of time. Enemy attacks can destroy the trap, and it disappears automatically after remaining active for too long.
Featherlight ArrowThe arrow is made from a special lightweight material and fitted with broad stabilizing fletching. It travels at very high speed and is unaffected by Gravity.

Featherlight Arrow has no cooldown, consumes no Energy, and can trigger all talent effects of a Normal Arrow.

Weapon Skills

NameHow it Works
ScattershotLoad seven arrows onto the bow and fire them forward simultaneously, dealing Physical Damage to enemies hit and knocking them back.

Scattershot has a shorter base cooldown in trio mode.
Rapid ArrowsEnter Volley mode for a limited duration. Hold the attack button to rapidly fire up to five arrows, dealing Physical Damage.

Shooting during Volley does not reduce Movement Speed. Using Dodge ends Volley mode.
Frostblight BombHold to aim and throw a Frostblight Bomb. After hitting terrain or a character, it detonates following a short delay and Freezes enemies within range for a period of time.

Frostblight Bomb has a shorter base cooldown in trio mode.
Sky PiercerFully draw the bow and fire a powerful arrow in a straight line toward the crosshairs, dealing Physical Damage on hit. The projectile can pierce five units.
Shadow StepEnter Stealth. After Stealth ends, Charge Speed briefly increases, and the skill can be used again within a short time to re-enter Stealth, up to three activations.

Collision with other units is ignored while in Stealth.
Impact GrenadeHold to aim and throw an Impact Grenade that can stick to characters or the environment. It detonates automatically after a delay, or can be detonated early by using the skill again.

The explosion deals Physical Damage to enemies within range and knocks back every unit in the area. Knockback distance increases the closer a target is to the grenade.

Impact Grenade has a shorter base cooldown in trio mode.
Predator’s SensesUse a secret herbal mixture to heighten the Blackarrow’s sense of smell, periodically detecting nearby enemies for a limited duration.

When an enemy player is within range, a temporary scent trail points toward the nearest target. The closer the enemy is, the more blood-red the trail becomes.

This skill has a limited number of uses per match.

Best Mistfall Hunter Blackarrow build

First, we have to decide on the type of arrow to use. At level 3, you can have three different options.

  • Steel Arrow: Great at taking down minions since it can pierce through one enemy and hit the next in line.
  • Concussive Arrow: Great choice for PvP since it can inflict stagger on the enemies. If you fire it at full draw, it will knock back the enemy.
  • Paralysis Arrow: Releases a medicinal mist in an area upon impact. Players in the mist will get Exhausted (go for this if you want to focus on PvP).
  • Featherlight Arrow: This special arrow has no cooldown, consumes no Energy, and triggers all talents of a normal arrow. This is a good choice if you want a more PvE-focused build.

Here are the key skills to use with this build.

  • Scattershot: Since you fire multiple arrows in a radius, it’s good to clear waves of enemies. The arrows also have a knockback effect that’s great against melee-focused enemies.
  • Rapid Arrows: Best skill in PvP situations since you can rapidly fire up to five arrows, dealing Physical damage. Your movement speed also remains unchanged during the volley.
  • Frostblight Bomb: Great support skill to freeze enemies in place and make them easier targets.
  • Predator’s Senses: Go for this if you are building a heavy PvP-focused build. It allows you to track nearby enemies from a distance, thereby allowing you to gain a strategic advantage over time.

Here are some of the key Talents to use with this build.

  • Measured Pace: Allows you to recover energy when you carry at least two Archer’s arrows and fire at full draw.
  • Marksman: Fully charged arrows will shoot with more accuracy.
  • Dodge Power Shot: Replaces your roll with a dodge. The attack then consumes additional energy and auto-aims at enemies. While the damage will be lowered, it will activate the special effects of all charged arrows.
  • Colossal Speed: Increases charging speed for shooting.
  • Astound: Raises the knockback from fully charged Concussive arrows.

Finally, here are the vital affixes for this Blackarrow build.

  • Ranged: Raises the damage against all enemies at a distance.
  • Focused: Raises your charging speed and your movement speed after a certain level

Ultimately, you have to be a bit careful when using this class. It specifically works well against melee-focused classes like Mercenary, as long as you can maintain distance. It is also great at targeting the backline of enemy teams, which usually include the Seer and the Sorcerer.
