Beast of Reincarnation is now available on PC and consoles worldwide, and performance isn’t its greatest asset. So far, I have encountered some major stutters in certain scenarios despite having a system that meets the required specifications.

If you’re on PC, too, you can make a few tweaks to improve the general performance.

Before I explore the settings, here’s my setup.

  • AMD Ryzen 7 5700X
  • AMD Radeon RX 9060XT
  • 32 GB of DDR4 RAM

While my system is closer to the recommended specs, I was forced to make substantial changes to get better performance. In this guide, I have focused on the performance side of things. You can stick closely with the parameters and their values mentioned below if your specs are near the minimum requirements.

  • Resolution: Go with the native resolution of your monitor.
  • VSync: Off. This turns on only if you encounter stuttering. It will reduce your FPS a bit, but result in smoother gameplay.
  • Ray Tracing: Off
  • Graphical Fidelity: Medium
  • Frame Rate: 60. Anything higher seems to cause stutters, despite having decent hardware. Hence, 60 FPS is the sweet spot I found.
  • Frame Rate (Cutscenes): Performance
  • VRAM Limit: Default
  • Upscaling: AMD FSR 1 for older AMD cards and FSR 3 for those that support it. For Nvidia, TSR is the way to go.
  • Upscaling Quality: Performance
  • Resolution Scaling: 80% if you want to make it easier on your rig. Otherwise, keep it at 100%.
  • Mesh Quality: Low
  • Anisotropic Filtering: ANISOx2
  • Texture Quality: Bring it to around 60%
  • Shadow Resolution: Low
  • Lighting: Medium
  • Shadow Quality: Low
  • Contact Shadows: Off
  • Post-Processing: Low/Medium
  • Motion Blur: Off
  • Depth of Field: Off

I am expecting a few post-launch patches to arrive to smooth out the issues. Based on my experience and that of the PC community, general performance appears to be the weakest area of the game so far. Hence, an improvement in this department is required immediately.
