There’s a lot of work to be done to restore Beast’s castle to its former glory and solve the mysterious haunting that’s overtaken it in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Much of this endeavor is tackled during Lumiere’s Belle, Book, and Candle quest.
Lumiere and Cogsworth require lots of assistance before they’re willing to head back to the village, so navigating this mission is essential. If this quest has you stumped, here’s a complete walkthrough for the Belle, Book, and Candle quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

How to complete Belle, Book, and Candle in Disney Dreamlight Valley
To complete the Belle, Book, and Candle quest, you must help Lumiere restore more of the castle and help him learn a bit more about the potential ghost that’s haunting it. There are many smaller steps along the way, so here’s a full breakdown of everything you must get done.
Place the items back where they belong
After talking to Lumiere to get this task started, your first mission is to place three items back where they belong. To do so, you must:
- Return the Standing Candelabra to its place near the stairs. From the Realm entrance, head straight until you reach the bottom of the stairs. Look slightly right to spot some wind swirls and rose petals. Interact with them to place this item back where it belongs.
- Return the Lion Statue to its place upstairs. Head up the stairs right near where you placed the last item. At the top, look left to find more wind and rose petals. Place the Lion Statue down here.
- Return the Globe to the library. Proceed through the doorway between the two lions, walk through the Beast’s room, go down the stairs, through the secret passage, and enter the library. Once you’re inside, head to the middle of the room to find the wind and petals. Place the Globe down here.
Two more strange items like the ones you previously found in The Haunting of Beast’s Castle quest and the A Growing Mystery quest will drop as soon as you place the last item. Pick up the Domestic Manual Page 3 and Second Enigmatic Key items to progress. Meet up with Lumiere back by the Realm entrance once you’re done.
Search for the old book in the west wing
Lumiere can’t find the book he’s looking for, and refuses to enter the Beast’s room without his permission, so you must now venture into the west wing to search for the old book. You can access this area by heading up the stairs straight across from the realm entrance and passing through the archway guarded by lion statues.
Once you’re inside, walk over to the seating area right underneath the portrait of Belle and the Beast. Look for the swirling wind and rose petals right behind the chair and interact with them to grab the old book. Meet up with Lumiere back by the Realm entrance again to show him what you found.
Return to Dreamlight Valley and talk to The Beast in his home
The old book you found is quite damaged, so you need an expert to help you fix it up. Exit the Beauty and the Beast Realm and venture to the Beast and Belle’s home in your valley. Interact with the Beast to talk to both him and Belle about what’s going on.
Use the glue on the Damaged Domestic Manual and its pages
Belle gave you some handy glue to fix the book up, so head to any crafting station to get to work. Switch to the Functional Items tab to find and repair the book. Once it’s fixed, head back into the Beauty and the Beast Realm to show Lumiere.
Place the book on the stand right next to him after you’re done chatting, then grab the Third Enigmatic Key that drops right behind it. Chat with Lumiere again to see if he knows anything about it, then pick up the Bag and Invitation that drop next to him. Talk to the furniture duo together to officially finish this mission and get one step closer to unlocking Lumiere and Cogsworth.
