Behold, the first screens for Metal Gear Survive, aka, ‘Kojima’s Revenge’

Kojima’s Revenge Metal Gear Survive, a brand new video game from Konami Holdings Corporation, isn’t looking so hot. Not, it’s not looking so hot at all.

While some were quick to dispel the notion of the premise of alternation dimensions and zombies as being “too absurd” for Metal Gear (they’ve gone way crazier!), the idea of shambling out (literally in this case) a spinoff project tenuously related to Metal Gear Solid V is questionable at best.

I mean, Konami could have handled this in a really classy way. Apologize for the way it treated Kojima, say it was a difference of opinion, and then name some sort of successor, some developer/producer who worked under Kojima’s wing, and note that the series is in “good hands,” and that it will return when it’s ready. I think a lot of fans would have accepted that in time.

Instead, we’re getting Big Boss Pachinko, and this. Community member Torchman made a great point yesterday — why isn’t Survive the Pachinko machine, and why isn’t the Metal Gear Solid 3 remake a game?
