Even now, we’re still uncovering hidden things in older videogames. I like this because it gives us another excuse to buy the same game we already own on 3 other formats.
Check out this noisy glitch in Super Mario Bros. 3 that permits players to earn 1UPs by sticking a thrown item into a pipe. The above videos show two examples of how this works.
Both instances involve a Raccoon Mario throwing a shell into a pipe. The shell becomes stuck, and items that subsequently hit the shell earn extra lives. This looks pretty difficult to pull off, especially in the second case.
