Battlezone is worth checking out on Vive and Oculus Rift

One of the better PSVR games to date

For me, Battlezone was and still is a highlight of the PlayStation VR library, albeit with the caveat that it’s best experienced with a full four-person group. The roguelike campaign structure and at times fierce difficulty both necessitate strong teamwork, and it’s also just inherently more enjoyable (and much more efficient) to blast enemy tanks, drones, and heavily-armored structures with a crew.

Rebellion launched the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift versions of Battlezone today on Steam.

The main differences are visual — “ultra-high resolution textures, customizable super-sampling, higher resolution shadow maps” — and for Rift owners, there’s Oculus Touch controller support.

It seemed like the price point kept PlayStation VR owners away, at least initially, and while the PC version is still going to normally cost $40, launch-week discounting brings it down to $34 until May 18.
