Battleship producer joins Gears of War film

But there’s not much else to report

Joining countless other adaptations of popular videogames that someone bought the rights to only for us to hear little if nothing else since, the Gears of War movie is still happening. Variety reports that Battleship and Ted producer Scott Stuber has joined the project.

He’ll be producing this film as well and is said to be starting development on script writing alongside Epic Games. It’s worth noting, however, that Gears is still very much in the early stages of production and currently has no talent, writer, or distributor.

So go ahead and file this as “Good to know, but I’m going to continue on with my day by finishing this cereal.” I will say that a Gears of War movie — even a “bad” one — could be enjoyable under the right circumstances. I’m not too picky with my action flicks.
