While it won’t be something we can exactly track, I am so interested in seeing how successful Battlefield: Bad Company 2 will be now that so many people are pissed over the botched PC version of Modern Warfare 2. Or could it be they aren’t really boycotting anything? Exactly! Hence my excitement.

When Infinity Ward announced there would be no dedicated servers, a bunch of other developers followed suit by announcing the opposite for their respective games. One such game was Bad Company 2, which appears to be gaining a new fanbase from ex-IW fans.

Now, according to MTV Multiplayer, DICE is taking it up a notch. Unlike Infinity Ward, this studio feels using party chat in multiplayer to cheat isn’t “that big of an issue.” As such, Bad Company 2 won’t have any restrictions on when and where you can use Xbox LIVE’s private chat system.

Was this a good move? I happen to think so.
