Battleblock Theater to start closed beta soon

Sign-ups now open to test Behemoth’s next title

Remember Battleblock Theater? It’s that competitive/cooperative multiplayer platform game that The Behemoth revealed just after the Big Bang (or a little over three years ago; same difference). It pops up at PAX and Comic Con in demo form regularly and I’ve been ignoring it because it didn’t seem like there were any noticeable changes from one event to the next.

The time to start paying attention has come, however, as a closed beta for Battleblock Theater has just been announced. The Behemoth has opened registration for the test, stating that there will be 10,000 slots available for those who wish to be among the first to play the game in the comfort of their own homes. The beta is expected to take place in February or March.

Of course, this is also a warning klaxon that the game itself is nearing completion. I think it’s now a safe bet that we’ll be seeing Battleblock release in all its glory in 2013.
